Previous cycling experience
Hmmm. Started off riding to my Granny's house now and again. I can remember shamelessly
begging for a lift home one day from my dad, who had to pick me up. Because it was
"too windy to ride home". So as long as its not windy in Ireland, I should be ok,
right? I've never entered a bike race in my life. And I don't ride with a club or
anything. I did however ride as a courier with Orbital Couriers in Cardiff for a
while. Good fun, and never a day without a near-
Aside from that, I've ridden the odd week here and there in Scotland, Wales, Lesotho,

Current job
I've never done a job that wasn't a hobby first. Jobs so far have included scuba
diving, absailing / climbing, doing naughty stuff for Greenpeace, and working as
a Doctor (current job, and yes, it kind of was a hobby first -
Career aspirations
To be suspended indefinitely, on full pay. To work rarely, and for good money. To get paid to have adventures. To get paid to get, occasionally at least, a bit cold scared.
Hopes for Ireland:
Hope I make it. Hope I don't crash out really badly. Hope I don't die / start vomiting through tiredness.
Fears:
Getting some awful hideous pain in my soft bits after the first few hours that doesn't leave me throughout the event.
