Previous Cycling/enduro experience

mmmmmm? Going to fetch the bread for my mum, I was the lad in the Hovis advert! No real enduro experience, mainly trail quests and novice mountain biking. This is a first for me and quite honestly I just want to complete the event and get it on the C.V. then bring the next one on. Other relevant experience

I have climbed a good chunk of the peaks in Britain and completed 16 half marathons and the London Marathon

Why the Race Around Ireland?

After reading Geoff Thomas's Biography , "Riding though the storm" recommended by fellow cyclist Mark Jones and the very reason why Geoff Thomas Foundation was selected as our nominated charity. I found so many parallels in the book from cracking the big hills, bike envy, should I or should I not shave my legs and become a "proper" cyclist. More than anything however I have an admiration for Geoff and other like him, who are dealt massive challenges in life, far greater than many of us, thankfully are ever likely to encounter. They set goals and fight against the odds and pain to get to the other side and beyond. It puts in to perspective the day to day challenges of life and makes you realise what you have, not what you have not!
